About Me
start fishing to unwind

How much time do you spend in the outdoors enjoying the fresh air and the many types of entertainment that Mother Nature has provided us? So many people spend a majority of their lives inside without considering what they are missing outside. This summer, maybe you should try your hand at fishing. I have put together a website to help those who are inexperienced casting their lines learn what they need to get started and how to succeed at catching their first fish. Fishing is one of the most relaxing sports for you to enjoy on your weekends after a hard week at work. Give it a shot and you may find that you love it as much as I do.

Increase Your Employee Engagement Through An Incentives Program

Danielle Baker

If you want to increase your employee's engagement, you need to start providing your employees with incentives to become more engaged in the workplace. First, you need to set goals for your employees to reach. Second, you need to provide them with great creative incentives.

#1 Set Goals

The first thing you need to do is set goals for your employees. In order to provide your employees with incentives, they need to know what they are working for. To invest your employees in your incentive program, it helps to start with smaller, achievable goals that will give your employee's a sense of success and will help you get your employee incentive program rolling.

As your employee's become more invested in your program, you need to increase the goals, and make them something that your employee's really have to strive for and work for in order to meet. The goals you set will be at the heart of your incentive program, so make sure that the goals align with where you want your business to go.

#2 Creative Incentives

The second thing you need to do is create incentives that go along with your goals. You need to create incentives that your employees will care about, and that they will take pride in achieving and earning.

There are many different types of incentives that you can provide your employees with. These incentives can be rewards within and outside of work.

Here are some incentives that you can provide within the workplace:

  • Longer lunch break
  • Catered lunch
  • Extra vacation day
  • Extended weekend
  • Raise
  • Casual dress days
  • Trophy or plaque

All of these incentives are directly tied to the workplace, and will give your employees additional benefits within the workplace. A trophy or plaque, like those from Washington Trophy Center, is a great way to provide long-term recognition  within the workplace for your employee's achievements

In addition to workplace incentives, you can provide incentives outside of the firm as well. Here are a few options:

  • Dinner certificates
  • Movie tickets
  • Gift basket
  • Cash bonus
  • Paid vacation

Make sure the outside incentives are for things and to places that your employees would actually enjoy. If you are not sure what your employees are interested in outside of work, send out an open-ended survey to them. If your employees are not interested in their incentives, they will not work hard for them.

In order to increase your employee's engagement with your company, you need to set meaningful goals, communicate your goals to your employees and provide them with meaningful rewards for meeting those goals. Making this change could turn around your business.
